SummaryThe Industrial Revolution began in Great Britain around 1780. It eventually spread through the rest of Europe and to the United States. During this time, there were many new inventions and technological advances. The production of factories was very high, which created more jobs. Because of this, people that lived in rural areas began moving into cities to find labor. There were many immediate and long-term impacts of the Industrial Revolution. There are both positive and negative events that occurred during the in industrial revolution. Economic growth was a big factor during this time. While more factories were built, more jobs were created. As for the people who owned these factories and businesses, they became wealthy quite fast. Also, people began moving from the country to the cities to find work, which resulted in a growth of the population. However, the working conditions for the industrial working class were extremely harsh. Adults and children worked long hours in factories with little light, smoke from machines, and dirty surroundings. The machines in the factories could also be very dangerous, many accidents occurred because of them. Another huge impact during the industrial revolution was all of the new technology that changed everyday life. Different ways of transportation, including trains and steam engines used in motorized vehicles, allowed people and goods to get places faster. Other inventions like the rotary printing press, the spinning jenny, and the cotton gin made the life of people living in the industrial revolution much easier. The Industrial Revolution has greatly impacted our world today. Advances in technology and transportation was an immediate impact during that time, however it also had a long-term impact. Many inventions have been improved and are still used today. For example, the steam engine, telegraph, and sewing machine are now more advanced and are still utilized in today's world. The production of railways has also opened up the opportunity of different ways of transportation. Overall, without the technological advances during the Industrial Revolution, our world would not be the way it is today. Self-Reflection
